Pugu Kazimzumbwi Forest Reserves

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS 

A number of touristic attractions found in the reserve include closed forest full of various plant species, giant bamboo stands, Minaki dam, Tanzanian flag   colored   grasshopper,   bat  caves,   Dar   Es Salaam City viewpoints, worshiping and spiritual sites, the endemic Mpugupugu tree, white colobus monkeys and giant millipedes. 

 

ECOTOURISM ACTIVITIES 

These include; hiking to view-points, canoeing/kayaking, sport fishing, bird   and  bat watching,    photographing,    camping,  worshiping    and meditation. 

 

ACCESSIBILITY 

Pugukazimzumbwi  Nature   Forest   Reserve  is   accessible   through  a tarmac road about 20 km from Dar Es Slaam. 

 

NEARBY TOURIST ATTRACTIONS SITES 

These are Vikindu Forest Reserve, Kaole Ruins, Bagamoyo Stone Town, Nyerere National Park, National Museum and Pande Game Reserve. 

 

ACCOMMODATION 

The site offers opportunity for camping. Also, several hotels are found in Dar es salaam.
